KTV Working Drone cleans windows 100 metres above ground at Rotterdam’s iconic Euromast

KTV Working Drone Netherlands has successfully carried out drone-based window cleaning at the iconic Euromast in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The operation took place approximately 100 metres above ground, demonstrating how advanced drone technology can provide a safer and more efficient approach to maintaining buildings and structures at significant heights.

Standing 185 metres tall, the Euromast is one of Rotterdam’s most recognisable landmarks. Its height and distinctive architecture make exterior maintenance particularly demanding, requiring solutions that combine accessibility, precision and safety.

The operation was carried out by KTV Working Drone Netherlands, marking the first use of KTV Working Drone technology for window cleaning at the Euromast. The successful operation demonstrated how drone-based cleaning can be applied to one of Rotterdam’s most distinctive and challenging structures.

Advanced technology with safety at the centre

KTV Working Drone technology enables window and facade cleaning without requiring personnel to work directly at height. The drone is operated from the ground, with purified water supplied through a hose connected to the cleaning equipment below.

The cleaning process is contactless, allowing glass surfaces to be cleaned without mechanical contact.

Safety is a central part of the technology. KTV Working Drone has developed a patented roof safety system that secures the drone to the structure during operations. Combined with proprietary sensor technology, the system provides additional control when operating close to buildings and at considerable heights.

By reducing the need for rope access, lifts and other traditional access equipment, drone-based cleaning offers an alternative approach to maintaining challenging structures.

International attention for KTV Working Drone

The operation at Euromast has attracted attention from Dutch media, including Dronewatch and AD, highlighting the growing interest in drone technology for professional building maintenance.

For KTV Working Drone Netherlands, the Euromast operation represents an important new reference project and demonstrates the capabilities of KTV Working Drone technology on complex high-rise structures.

As KTV Working Drone continues to expand internationally, projects such as Euromast illustrate the opportunities for smarter, safer and more sustainable building maintenance.
