The Norwegian division of ISS Facility Services is preparing to launch its own drone cleaning concept for its real estate clients. Stig Ronander, Head of Innovation at ISS Facility Services, had already been considering drone-based facade cleaning, but plans were accelerated due to growing demand from major property owners.

Thorough market research led to partnership.
Ronander explains that ISS conducted a thorough market analysis and collected references before selecting KTV as their partner.
“This is a service we wanted to outsource to a partner with the right expertise and experience,” says Ronander.
In recent weeks, the company has focused on promoting the collaboration with KTV internally.
High expectations for the new service.
“We’ve held presentations for technical departments and the sales team, and even hosted webinars to ensure as many people as possible within the organization understand this new service. We’re well underway with spreading the word internally,” Ronander says.
He has high expectations for the partnership and especially for the feedback from the first customers to use the new service.
Two proven cleaning methods.
KTV brings extensive experience in using drones to clean buildings, but Ronander admits there’s always some anticipation when introducing a new service under the ISS umbrella even when using an experienced subcontractor.
KTV has already carried out drone cleanings for property owners who are existing ISS clients.
KTV Working Drone offers two gentle cleaning methods:
- The pure water method: Ideal for windows and glass facades, providing immediate results.
- The SelfCleaner method: Applied to facades, this solution is activated by rain and cleans the surface gradually over a period of up to three months.
The first major player.
Christian Kolsrud at KTV, is excited about the collaboration.
“We’ve spent significant time aligning expectations and ensuring a shared understanding of what drone cleaning involves. I must also commend ISS Facility Services for being both innovative and thorough they’re the first major property management company to develop a dedicated concept for drone-based facade cleaning,” Kolsrud says.
