KTV Working Drone has successfully performed drone cleaning for Kaefer Energy and Equinor at the Kårstø processing plant in Rogaland, Norway. A total of 1,800 meters of gas pipes were cleaned in just three days.
The Kårstø processing plant plays a crucial role in the transportation and processing of gas and condensate from key areas on the Norwegian continental shelf.
This project marks the first time drones have been approved for use in such a challenging environment, generating significant excitement about the results. The work was completed in only three days, providing significant cost savings.
Moreover, the project eliminated the need for personnel to work at heights or to use lifts or scaffolding, reducing project time by 90%.
The cleaning methods are bespoke, exclusively developed by us. Our SelfCleaner method is gentle, ensuring no damage to the coating during cleaning, and has been designed with a strong focus on environmental protection and sustainability.
This project proves that drone technology can be effectively utilized in such environments, opening up enormous opportunities for use in the oil and gas industry, both onshore and offshore.
We have gained valuable experience from this project and are continuing to develop specialized ATEX equipment.
KTV Working Drone also aim to offer drone-based painting services by 2025. The oil and gas sector will be a major focus area for KTV Working Drone moving forward.
