KTV Eco and KTV Nano
The science behind active nanotechnology
KTV Eco and KTV Nano are based on advanced photocatalytic nanotechnology, a process activated by light and air.
When light hits nanocrystals of titanium dioxide (TiO₂) on the surface, oxidation radicals are formed, breaking down bacteria, viruses, mold, NOx, VOCs, and organic contaminants.
The result is self-disinfecting and self-cleaning surfaces that remain clean and hygienic without the use of chemicals.
This technology mimics nature’s own purification process, but operates continuously both indoors and outdoors.
Sustainability and Environmental Impact
KTV Eco and KTV Nano directly support sustainable building standards (BREEAM, LEED).
By reducing the need for cleaning agents and water consumption, both operating costs and environmental impact are lowered.
In addition, air pollution is reduced – a treated building can actively purify the air around it.
Real field results
Barcelona, Public building
After application of KTV Eco on stone and concrete façades, the surfaces remained visually and microbiologically clean for several months.
Testing showed 95% effect on day 1, and 50% effect even after 30 days without cleaning.
China, Luxury Hotel
11,168 m² of surfaces (walls and marble) were treated with KTV Eco and KTV Nano.
After three days, indoor air quality improved by 90% (TVOC, benzene, formaldehyde).
After 90 days, all values were still within the green zone.
Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Mosque
KTV Nano has demonstrated strong resistance to dust, UV, and high temperatures, keeping the surfaces white and glossy over time.

Independent Laboratory Tests
National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (Greece):
- ISO 22197-1 testing showed up to 42.4% reduction of NOx (nitrogen oxides).
- 10 m² of treated surface provides the same air-purifying effect as a single tree.
ETAT S.A. (Food Industry Technology Laboratory):
- Reduction of Listeria monocytogenes by 54% and E. coli by 31% after 60 minutes of light exposure.
- The effect is due to photocatalysis, not chemical reaction.
NanoPhos R&D, Sun & UV Test:
- Under natural light exposure, organic dyes were fully degraded within 16 hours, while untreated surfaces remained contaminated.

What are KTV Eco and KTV Nano, and what are the benefits of using them?
KTV ECO – Self cleaning and environmentally friendly surface treatment
KTV ECO is an advanced surface treatment based on photocatalytic technology. The treatment creates a selfcleaning effect, allowing façades and surfaces to largely clean themselves with the help of sunlight and rainwater.
Key features:
Self cleaning surface.
Dirt, viruses, bacteria, and organic material are naturally broken down, keeping the surface clean with minimal manual cleaning. KTV ECO can also be applied indoors with the same effect, activated by light sources.
Antibacterial and antiviral effect.
The surface prevents the growth and spread of bacteria and viruses, providing an extra layer of hygienic protection. It significantly improves indoor environments and is especially recommended for hospitals, schools, kindergartens, offices, and private homes.
Air- and environment-improving properties.
The treatment breaks down air pollutants, particularly NOx particles (nitrogen oxides), contributing to cleaner air in urban and residential areas. In Norway, 30 m² of treated surface reduces NOx equivalent to the yearly emissions of one car. These results can be included in environmental reporting.
Long lifespan.
Protects the underlying surface over time and reduces the need for frequent maintenance.
KTV ECO is particularly well suited for façades, roofs, concrete, and other mineral based surfaces where cleanliness and environmental performance are essential.
KTV NANO – Nano impregnation for long lasting protection.
KTV NANO is a highly effective nano impregnation developed to protect surfaces from water penetration and damage. The product penetrates deeply into mineral substrates, forming an invisible, breathable barrier that prevents moisture ingress while maintaining the natural appearance of the surface.

Water- and dirt repellent.
Effectively prevents water penetration, reducing the risk of frost damage, cracking, and biological growth (algae, moss, fungi).
Keeps surfaces cleaner over time.
Reduced water absorption makes it harder for dirt and pollutants to adhere.
Protection of building materials.
Especially effective on mineral surfaces such as concrete, brick, plaster, and painted façades with high mineral content.
Interior and exterior use.
Can be applied on interior walls and ceilings (e.g., parking garages, industrial buildings, and basements) where moisture exposure may cause damage or discoloration.
