Oil, gas & industry
The oil and gas sector presents a number of challenges related to cleaning, surface treatment, and inspection, challenges where KTV Working Drone delivers real value.
KTV has been a trusted name in cleaning and surface maintenance since 1992. Our drone technology was developed in Norway between 2015 and 2020, combining decades of industry experience with innovation. Today, KTV Working Drone is represented in 66 countries worldwide.
Cleaning and operating in hazardous environments
Our drone-based cleaning solutions eliminate the need for workers to operate in hazardous environments. This drastically reduces or eliminates the cost and complexity associated with scaffolding and rope access.
With deep expertise in cleaning methods for industrial and offshore environments, we’ve developed sustainable and cost-effective solutions tailored for the oil and gas sector. These facilities consist primarily of metallic structures, which demand careful cleaning to preserve protective coatings and extend lifespan.
The KTV SelfCleaner is a unique, in-house developed cleaning system designed to clean effectively without causing surface damage—ensuring long-term protection of critical assets.
We offer surface treatment and inspection services using KTV Working Drone
Surface treatment
By 2025, our goal is to enable the drone to carry out surface treatment tasks directly. We are currently working on advanced solutions including spot-repair sandblasting, allowing localized surface preparation for coating repairs.
This innovation is driven by a clear objective: reduce the need for personnel in high-risk environments, while also reducing costs and improving efficiency for our clients.
Inspection services
Advanced drone inspection for oil, gas, and industrial facilities
The oil and gas sector demands continuous control of structures exposed to corrosion, temperature variation, and harsh environments.
KTV Working Drone delivers advanced inspection services designed specifically for these challenges, combining high-resolution photography, thermal imaging, and 3D modeling with engineering analysis.
Our drone-based inspection identifies and documents:
- Corrosion and coating degradation on steel structures and pipelines
- Structural deformation or cracks caused by load or vibration
- Loose or unstable façade and panel systems with fall risk
- Moisture intrusion and insulation breakdown in process areas
- Heat anomalies and leaks from tanks, vessels, and piping
- Overheating or electrical faults in control systems and mechanical equipment

These inspections are performed without scaffolding, rope access, or shutdown, reducing cost, exposure, and downtime while increasing precision and safety
All reports include visual and thermal data interpreted by engineers, providing verified results with actionable insights for maintenance and safety programs.
Drone-in-a-box solution
On-demand drone flights
For clients requiring regular inspection or site monitoring, we offer a drone-in-a-box (Dock Solution) — an automated station enabling scheduled or on-demand drone flights directly from site.
This solution allows continuous inspection, surveillance, and area control at industrial plants, terminals, or offshore facilities.

Combined with cleaning and surface treatment.
KTV Working Drone integrates inspection, cleaning, and surface treatment into one operational platform.
This allows inspection and maintenance to be performed in a single workflow — reducing cost, downtime, and the number of personnel in hazardous zones.
The result: Faster diagnostics. Safer operations. Lower cost.
We have a long history as a service partner for the oil, gas and industry sector
KTV Group was founded in Norway in 1992, specializing in industrial and property cleaning, particularly for the oil and gas sector. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit, the company has continuously developed new products and services.
The KTV Working Drone was developed between 2015 and 2020 as part of a major innovation project. In 2025, we entered the oil and gas market with our first major operation at Equinor Kårstø, where 1,800 meters of gas pipelines were cleaned using drones and the SelfCleaner method—setting a new standard for safety and efficiency in industrial maintenance.
