KTV Working Robot is a new technology concept from KTV Working Drone, introducing robotic systems developed for cleaning, inspection and surface treatment in demanding industrial environments. This is the first technology concept in a new series, with more innovative solutions to follow.
A magnetic climbing robot built for demanding steel environments
MAGGIE is the first robot in the KTV Working Robot family. Using magnetic traction, it moves vertically, horizontally and underneath steel structures, and cleans with water pressure up to 500 bar.

The first robot: MAGGIE
Magnetic traction, directly on steel
MAGGIE is a magnetic climbing robot designed to work directly on steel surfaces. It can operate at significant heights without the same practical access limitations as traditional manual methods.
The cleaning system includes:
High-pressure cleaning up to 500 bar
Front nozzles with approximately 180° vertical movement
Magnetic climbing technology
Four rotating cleaning nozzles at the front
Robotic arm with two additional cleaning nozzles
Vertical, horizontal and overhead operation
The moving front nozzles and robotic arm allow MAGGIE to clean complex steel structures, corners, stiffeners and difficult angles.
More than a cleaning robot
One platform, from cleaning to surface treatment
MAGGIE is a multi-purpose industrial robotic platform.
1
Cleaning
High-pressure cleaning up to 500 bar.
2
Inspection
Camera-based visual inspection and NDT applications and coating thickness measurement (COMING).
3
Spot blasting
Localised sandblasting and surface preparation on damaged or corroded areas.
4
Surface treatment
In development
Development is underway for coating and spray-painting applications.
Built for tanks and complex structures
Where steel is hard to reach, MAGGIE goes
MAGGIE is particularly suited for structures with complex geometry. The 180° moving front cleaning system gives the robot access to areas that are difficult to reach with conventional equipment.
Designed for:
Oil and gas
Ships and marine structures
Offshore installations
Wind turbines
Storage tanks
Industrial steel structures
Process facilities
01
Internal tank cleaning
02
External tank cleaning
03
Cleaning around stiffeners and frames

Why KTV Working Robot
If a robot can do the dangerous work, a person should not have to
Many industrial maintenance tasks still require people to work in environments where the risk can be significant. Tank cleaning is one example.
Personnel may be exposed to:
Hazardous gases
Confined spaces
Slippery surfaces
Complex steel structures
Low oxygen
Working at height
Difficult evacuation
High-pressure equipment
Our objective is to develop technology that allows robots to take over more of these tasks.
Smarter and increasingly autonomous
A robot that understands the job
The next development stage is making MAGGIE increasingly intelligent and autonomous.
The objective is a robot that does not simply move where the operator tells it to move. The objective is a robot that understands the job that needs to be completed.
Development focuses on the robot being able to:
01
Understand its surroundings
02
Read structural geometry
03
Recognise obstacles
04
Identify cleaned areas
05
Identify areas not yet cleaned
06
Build a digital map of the working surface
07
Plan its own working route
08
Navigate autonomously
Clean. Inspect. Understand. Treat. Document.
SAFER
Fewer people in tanks, at height and around hazardous gases.
SMARTER
Robotics, sensors, cameras and software in one platform.
AUTONOMOUS
Developed to map the surface, plan its route and navigate on its own.
The future of KTV Working Robot
MAGGIE is the first robot in the family. It will not be the last.
KTV Working Robot will become a family of robotic technologies designed for industrial cleaning, inspection, maintenance and surface treatment.
Our development focus is on combining:
Robotics
Sensors
Cameras
Software
Artificial intelligence
Automation
The long-term goal is to develop robotic technology that can perform more industrial maintenance with less human exposure to dangerous environments.
